How to Use ChatGPT for Lead Generation

The hype around ChatGPT in the digital marketing and lead generation community is at an all-time high. But just how useful is ChatGPT if you want to produce content that will get you more leads?

OpenAI and ChatGPT are leading the way in AI applications, and ChatGPT reached over a million users on its first day.

Now, I know some people are concerned that ChatGPT could replace copywriters and lead generators. But don’t worry, you’re probably safe. Without a solid foundation of knowledge about your industry and product or service, AI tools cannot be relied upon.

Sometimes ChatGPT gets it wrong, even if it sounds confident in its answers. If you want to create a lead magnet for a solar client, for instance, consider a scenario where you’re generating leads.

It is unlikely that ChatGPT will be able to provide you with those postcodes or provide you with the information you need to convert clients. The output will most likely be generic and devoid of nuance. Since ChatGPT is trained to use information up to 2021, you will still need to verify what it says.

Who do you think you’ll need to turn to for this? A professional, of course. If you know that, you can still use ChatGPT to generate leads to improve your agency’s efficiency and combat writer’s block.

Ad Copy With ChatGPT for Lead Generation

Advertisement copy

For a Facebook ad to hook the user, the first 3 lines of copy are crucial.  When you run out of ideas when it comes to writing variations of those first three lines, you can ask ChatGPT to rewrite them for you, as many times as you like.

Here’s the prompt we inputted into ChatGPT for ad copy generation:

Prompt: “Write 3 LinkedIn Ads about “Business Owners struggling to find new clients” which is offering them a guide on “Our AI Leads Generation Guide Download”

ChatGPT outputs:

  1. “Attention Business Owners! Are you tired of struggling to find new clients? Our AI Leads Generation Guide can help! This comprehensive guide shows you how to use AI to generate leads and close more deals. Download now!
  2. “Want to grow your business? You need new clients. Our AI Leads Generation Guide can help you find them. Learn how to use AI to identify potential customers, generate leads, and close more deals. Download your copy today!
  3. “Struggling to find new clients? Our AI Leads Generation Guide has got you covered! Learn how to harness the power of AI to find qualified leads, build relationships, and close more deals. Download now and take your business to the next level!”

But it doesn’t just stop there. ChatGPT remembers your conversation. Because of this we can ask ChatGPT to write them again and make it sound more “clickbaity”, it gives the following output

Prompt: “write them again and make it sound more “clickbaity””
ChatGPT outputs:
  1. “Unlock explosive business growth with our AI Leads Generation Guide! Say goodbye to endless client searching and hello to a steady stream of new business. Download now!
  2. “Ready to skyrocket your client base? Get your hands on the AI Leads Generation Guide and watch your business soar! Don’t wait, download now!

SEO keywords with ChatGPT for Lead Generation

The challenge of coming up with new and creative keyword ideas to boost your SEO can be tricky if you’ve been in lead gen for a while.

The Google Trends or Ubersuggest tools are great starting points for keyword research. ChatGPT can help you brainstorm keywords you might not have thought of on your own. We can, for example, ask ChatGPT to suggest keywords that people may type related to a topic.

Prompt: “Generate 4 keywords for digital marketing”

ChatGPT outputs:

  1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  2. PPC (Pay-Per-Click)
  3. Social Media
  4. Content Marketing

With those keywords, you can plug them into Google Trends and see which ones might be worth considering. See what you can come up with!

DALL-E for Generating Images for Content and Ads

Isn’t it important to have great images for your website, social media, and ads if you want to attract leads? Despite the many royalty-free images available, everyone is using them, so check out DALL-E from OpenAI if you want to stand out.

These technologies continue to improve and have produced some impressive results over the past few months.

For instance, here’s what DALL-E came up with when I put the following prompt into it:

Prompt: “marketing team in the office discussing the next email marketing campaign ”

DALL-E outputs:

dall-e

Even if it doesn’t give you a flawless image right away, DALL-E still gives you a basic style to work with.

A couple of hundred bucks can get you a pretty usable image if you know how to use Illustrator or Photoshop to clean up any “messy bits” that were created by the AI.

List some famous artists whose style you would like to emulate if you want your ads to be more effective.

ChatGPT for Video Script creation

Do you struggle to come up with compelling sales copy when you run Youtube or Linkedin Video Ads? ChatGPT will do the grunt work for you if you just give it the subject of your video and any other information it needs.

AI Video script writing

You’ll have a home run of an opening, a smooth transition, a solution, and a call to action, written just for you. Interestingly enough, it came up with one of our script hooks. For example,

we ask it to write a script for an advertisement for an office supply company.

Prompt: “write a script for a 20 second long video advertisement for a office supplies company”

ChatGPT outputs:

[Scene opens with a person typing on a computer, and we hear the clicking of the keyboard]

“Get the job done right, with the right tools.”

[The person smiles and stands up from their desk]

“From paper to pens, to the latest tech, we’ve got you covered.”

[A montage of different office supplies appears on the screen, such as paper, folders, staplers, and printers]

“Our wide selection of top-quality office supplies, will help you work smarter, not harder.”

[The person is now shown holding a new laptop, with the company’s logo visible on the back of the screen]

“Visit us today, and see why we’re the go-to source for all your office needs.”

[The company’s logo and website appear on the screen, followed by the tagline]

Tagline: “Empowering productivity, one office at a time.” [Scene fades to black]

One thing to remember before you go off and use ChatGPT!

In terms of stats, ChatGPT has a catch – it has only been trained on data up until 2021. Although, ChatGPT can still be useful if you’re looking for references from books or websites on past studies. You might get some new ideas from it if you ask it to find some interesting debt statistics and references. You should double-check any information you get from ChatGPT with more recent sources, but it’s still worth trying as a starting point.
